The EU believes in fuel cell micro-CHP
Market and policy
What are the advantages of fuel cell micro-cogeneration? They are distributed generation, high efficiency, energy savings, CO2 reduction and zero impact on air quality due to the fact that this technology is not based on combustion. The European Union has been supporting the development of this technology for years, and now that it is more mature and widespread will be financing around 3,000 plants for the next 4-5 years in view of the technology’s continued high costs and regulatory restrictions.
