The Irish Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) tells us about the benefits of biomethane for the agricultural sector
Applications and technologies
Agriculture is critical to the development of biomethane in Ireland. The country’s Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) supports the rural sector to take advantage of this opportunity through three main areas of intervention for which biomethane would bring benefits: nutrient management, reduction of emissions and promotion of a prosperous agricultural sector. Without forgetting the use of by-products such as biofertilisers and compost.
