UK: new funds to foster cogeneration
Market and policy
The December 2017 the UK government published the "Clean Growth Strategy", targeting a 20% improvement in energy efficiency at companies by 2030; decarbonisation is also a major government priority. Cogeneration could help to meet these needs, which is why the government has set aside funds to encourage the rational use of energy and above all heat with programmes such as the Heat Network Investment Project (HNIP) and the Industrial Energy Efficiency Accelerator.
