US: “State Resiliency Planning” introduced to help deal with natural disasters
Market and policy
Over the past 10 years, the United States has faced numerous natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires. In order to face and overcome these events in the best possible way, each State has introduced “State Resilience Planning”, in other words a plan that takes into account various variables including energy supply. During these types of situations, independent power generation becomes critical in order to avoid blackouts, particularly in resilient facilities such as hospitals. Neeharika Naik-Dhungel cites 4 States that have adopted resilience plans: Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Maryland.
