                Bio360 Expo 2023 - 8/9 February 2023, Nantes, FR

                16 January 2023

                Bio360 Expo 2023

Bio360 Expo is an international assembly point comprising a large international exhibition and multi-track conference programme dedicated to advancing bioenergy, the bioeconomy and atmospheric carbon removal, in order to create a circular and renewable society, in contrast to the current model still dominated by dead-end fossil fuels.

The event is singularly focused on spotlighting solutions that can accelerate the biotransition through the scaling-up of transformative and often disruptive technologies.

Generating diverse energy carriers (in liquid, solid or gaseous form) from a broad range of different biomass feedstocks and process technologies, energy recovery in the form of heat, power, mobility (by land, air and sea), replacing everyday petro-chemical derived products from our daily lives with ones produced from biomass or CO2 feedstocks represent the central themes of the event and are all evidenced throughout the exhibition and examined in depth in the many conferences.

                Bio360 Expo, in a nutshell :

                ·         7-8000 visitors from 40+ countries

                ·         450 exhibitors from 35 countries

                ·         thematic coverage : bioenergy (solid, liquid, gaseous), renewable and biobased construction materials, carbon capture and utilisation and storage

                ·         6 conference tracks with simultaneous translation (french/english)

                ·         study tours the day before the event (7th February)

                ·         the innovation competition

                The Exhibition

The exhibition, covering an extensive 12 000m2 in the prestigous XXL hall, provides an outstanding opportunity to meet an exceptional range of solution providers from across the bioenergy, BECCU/S, biochar and bio/renewable constrution materials spectrums, amongst the 450 plus exhibitors from more than 35 countries.

                The Programme

The conference programme is comprised of 6 tracks with simultaneous translation in French/English, accessible via a mobile phone and headphones:

                • Solid bioenergy: biomass and wood-energy, agricultural co-products, srf, co-generation, district and industrial heating and cooling, renewable green gas (green hydrogen, synthesis methane, synthesis gas)

                • Liquid bioenergy: biofuels for the road, maritime and aviation transport sectors

                • Gaseous bioenergy: biogas, biomethane, bioNGV, green hydrogen for local consumption or broader distribution

                • Biobased and renewable materials for construction : capture and utilisation of CO2, biochar, hemp, algae and/or rapeseed residues in concrete, biochar as a substitute for fossil bitumen to bind asphalt, lignin also as an ashpalt binder as well as as main ingredient for the manufacture of high-performance foam door and window frames, hemp and biobased foams for insulation as well as biochar for cladding among other innovative solutions for a healthy, low-carbon or carbon negative built environnement

                • Biochar: biochar has a large evolving range of usages from agriculture and soil management, for livestock, water management, construction, biocomposites etc and is one of the few Negative Emissions Technologies as identified by the IPCC. With biochar, large volumes of excess atmospheric CO2 can be extracted and sequestered

                • Carbon capture and utilization / storage (CCU/S): capturing and utilising CO2 is a key tool for reducing net future carbon emissions and can equally make a significant contribution to fossil displacement through downstream processing leading to a large range of products (chemical, fuels, materials… the list goes on), the end goal being to achieve a world where all carbon is renewed and the carbon resident in the geosphere (fossil carbon) remains underground.

                The study tours

Study Tours of sites of special interest in and around Nantes are proposed on the 7th February, the day before the event opens. Destinations will include wood energy and biomass installations, synthetic methane production and biogas installations with biomethane upgrading, cogeneration and orc. Participation for free and by pre-registration. only.
