Gothenburg, with over 500,000 people, is the second largest city in Sweden. Biogas produced from the waste water undergoes a process of upgrading into biomethane and is then used to power the municipal car fleet. The plant, located in Gasendal ("Gas Valley"), produces 72GWh of electricity every year and enjoys the constant support of the city of Gothenburg.
