Alpa – Plasco redefines plastic production by focusing on energy efficiency
Case history
With 196 locations worldwide and a presence in 47 countries, Alpla is a global leader in the development and production of innovative plastic packaging solutions. Alpla demonstrates how plastic production can align with the principles of sustainability and efficiency. In this context, we visited Plasco, an Alpla subsidiary based in Anagni, where a cogeneration plant has been installed with an electrical production capacity of 2.7 MWh and a cooling capacity of 2 MW. Thanks to this technology, Plasco covers approximately 40% of its energy needs and reduces the use of chillers by 60%, or even eliminates their use entirely during non-summer months.
