Analysis of digestate transport and distribution costs
Anaerobic digestion
At Fieragricola 2024 we interviewed Professor Marco Fiala to discuss the costs of transporting and distributing digestate. The Professor has analysed different situations in plants located in the Po Valley, to offer agricultural entrepreneurs an approximate indication of an economic nature. The evaluation considered the transport and delivery times, as well as the characteristics of the machinery used for these activities. It was found that within a range of 5 km, the impact of transport is significant. Therefore, it becomes essential to optimise transport activities and, possibly, to consider the intermediate accumulation of digestate. Let’s take a closer look at this topic in this interview.
