Besides new vehicles, biomethane/RNG can also improve the environmental performance of vehicles already registered in Italy
Sustainable mobility
All FCA natural gas models can also run on biomethane/RNG. Without modifying the engine or network, the same results and performance of a natural gas vehicle can be achieved, with a considerably lower environmental impact, as demonstrated by FCA’s #BioMetaNow project. In this project, a natural gas model of a Panda car was run exclusively on biomethane/RNG, travelling 20,000 km in one year and reducing emissions by 97% compared to a petrol model, with an environmental impact on a par with electric vehicles powered by renewable energy.
