Cavendish Farms, one of the largest fries producers in North America, was one of the pioneering companies in the production of biogas from waste. In fact, their journey into environmental sustainability began in 2009 with the installation of a biogas plant at their headquarters in Prince Edward Island, on Canada’s East coast. Around 800,000,000 pounds of finished French fires are produced here annually and, consequently, a considerable amount of waste resulting from their processing. This is precisely why Cavendish Farms has decided to give new life to this waste, transforming it into about 50,000 cubic meters of biogas per day, which covers about 30% of the company’s energy needs.
