Biohydrogen and biomethane production: a study from Spain
Research
The Fundación CARTIF, a Spanish research center specialized in technological innovation and sustainable development in the energy, industry, and environmental sectors, conducted a study to identify the types of sludge best suited for biohydrogen production through dark fermentation. Laboratory tests showed that some types of waste, especially those with high protein content, allow for higher biohydrogen production, while others are more suitable for biomethane production.
