Biomethane for Irish Agriculture: Interview with Teagasc, the Agriculture and Food Development Authority
Market and policy
In this interview with Teagasc, the Irish public body focused on agriculture and food development, the importance of the new biomethane strategy for the development of this sector is underlined. Now, with a coordinated approach between state bodies and industry, the next step is to involve the agricultural sector, explaining to farmers the opportunities and challenges offered by biomethane. Teagasc, through its research, consultancy and education divisions, is already studying the best raw materials for the production of biomethane in Ireland, such as pastures, and working on the development of biofertilisers and new technologies to support farmers in the process.
