Biomethane/RNG and advanced biomethane/RNG: what biomass products are suitable according to the italian decree?
What is biomethane/RNG?
Pursuant to the Ministerial Decree of 10.10.2014, in Italy we refer to biomethane and advanced biomethane. What is the difference between the two? Lorella Rossi of the Italian Biogas consortium explains how, in order for biomethane to be considered as an advanced biofuel, the biomass products indicated in annex 3, Part A of the decree should be used - or rather everything that is agricultural or production residue or second harvest material. Only in this case will biomethane merit privileged incentivisation.
