The biogas sector in Canada recorded a tremendous increase from 2011 to 2020. This is illustrated by the new Canadian 2020 Biogas Market Report published by the Canadian Biogas Association, which signals an almost 50% increase in biogas projects across the country. To date, there are 279 biogas projects operating in Canada and they contribute to providing 196 megawatts of green electricity! Now all that remains is to also capitalize on the opportunity presented by RNG (renewable natural gas), which is gaining ground particularly in British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario.
