Cogeneration and biogas plants serving the CLAI agricultural cooperative
Case history
After the installation of a first biogas cogeneration plant, in 2021 CLAI, an agricultural cooperative focused on the processing of meat for the production of cured meats and hams, chose to install a second 900 kW methane-powered plant. The company, which manages an integrated supply chain spanning from the cultivation of the land to direct sales, in fact, requires high amounts of electricity and heat for its production process. And as far as the future is concerned, the company has already planned to invest in a new trigeneration plant and is considering the conversion of the existing biogas plant from electricity and thermal production to biomethane/RNG production.
