Eleven anaerobic digestion plants from organic waste: Severn Trent ranked first for biogas production in the UK

Severn Trent is UK's largest producer of renewable energy from bio-waste. Seven Trent operates 11 anaerobic digestion plants, 10 of which are fed with 450,000 tonnes of food waste per year. The total energy production amounts to 350 GWh per year. There are six plants for electricity production and five are dedicated to the production of biomethane for the grid. The company is an undisputed leader in this area but aims to further strengthen the business, as Christer Stoyell, Managing Director of Severn Trent Green Power, explains to us.
