Energy audit: aspects to be taken into consideration
Energy efficiency and cogeneration
The energy auditor who prepares to carry out an industrial energy audit must monitor certain important aspects, such as: the installed power and the number of annual active system hours; the specific cost of the energy saved and the predicted life of the systems requiring increased efficiency; the availability of interest on capital to fund the efficiency increasing operations. Within this context, CHP is considered to be an energy saving tool, in that it allows the combined and simultaneous production of heat and electricity.
