Gas network connection: SNAM's figures from 2016 to date
From 2016 to date, Snam – a gas transmission and distribution company – has handled 1000 requests for connection to the natural gas grid and as many offers. Among these, about 80 connections have been finalised and 150 are being defined. The total number of cubic metres fed into the grid, considering both the plants already connected and those under development, amounts to 1.3 billion cubic metres of biomethane. These are very significant figures for this sector, which is expected to reach a total of 5 billion cubic metres by 2030. This objective is explained to us by Nicola Battilana, Director of Infrastructure Planning at Snam, who has seen the number of requests for connection to the transport network double in the last 15 months.
