Gasification as a key to a low-emission energy future in Europe
Associations
Gasification is a thermochemical process that converts organic materials into syngas and biochar. It is considered a promising technology for the energy transition, as it allows for the valorisation of waste while reducing dependence on fossil fuels. For this reason, the European Biogas Association (EBA) has published a white paper analyzing the role of gasification in Europe's future energy system, with a focus on technological, economic, and market aspects. The document also includes a mapping of 195 gasification plants in Europe: 141 already operational and 54 under development. How can gasification become a key driver of a low-emission energy future? Let’s find out in this video.
