Green Gas Task Force: driving biomethane into the future
Associations
The Green Gas Task Force is a group that promotes biomethane and works to create policies that support the sector’s growth. It collaborates with producers, distributors, traders, and gas networks to join forces and deliver a clear, consistent message. Its main audience is governments and policymakers, who are provided with reports showing the economic, employment, and energy security potential of biomethane. In 2026, new studies on topics such as hybrid heating and regional employment are planned to strengthen institutional confidence. Thanks to these initiatives, the national energy system operator has revised biomethane production estimates from 7 to 68 TWh by 2050, marking a major step forward for the sector.
