Ireland: how can the biogas yield from whiskey distilleries and breweries be optimised?
Research
Can biogas be produced from whiskey and beer processing waste? Of course it can! The proof is provided in this interesting research from Ireland, which studies how to optimise the biogas yield of distillery waste water and the waste products of barley and yeast. The research, presented at the twentieth European Biomass Conference & Exhibition, examines three different pre-treatment approaches using new technologies - with very promising results.
