Ireland, IrBEA: the potential for biomethane in Ireland is high, here’s how to achieve it
Market and policy
Ireland, with its vast agricultural sector, is considered one of the EU Member States with the greatest potential in the biogas and biomethane sectors. The production target set by 2030 is 5.7 TWh of biomethane/renewable natural gas, equivalent to about 200 new plants. How can we actually reach these numbers? What is needed from a regulatory point of view? We spoke to IrBEA - the Irish Bioenergy Association.
