Regenerative Storage Power Plants: The Case of Gettorf
Biogas cogeneration
In this interview, Martin Lass from Bioenergie Gettorf explains a new concept: that of regenerative storage power plants. BioEnergie Gettorf, present for over a decade as a local heat supplier in Gettorf, Germany, actually produces energy through cogeneration powered by biogas and biomethane. The electricity produced is fed into the grid and replaces electricity from fossil fuels. The heat generated at the same time is fed into the local heating network through the heat storage system and is intended to provide renewable heat to the city center. What is the special feature of this power plant? Let's find out in the video.
