Renewable energy in the future: synergies and challenges towards carbon neutrality
Energy efficiency and cogeneration
Smartenergy is an investment company dedicated to renewable energy, focusing on large-scale solar projects, hydrogen, and zero-emission fuels for various sectors, including hard-to-decarbonize industries. While the EU has implemented effective mechanisms to unlock the investments needed for carbon neutrality, such as the Hydrogen Bank, uncertainties remain on the demand side. Greater clarity is needed on CO2 pricing, contracts for difference (CFD), and guarantees to mitigate risks for private investors. In this context, combined heat and power (CHP) offers promising synergies, integrating with technologies like ammonia heat pumps and hydrogen projects to enhance efficiency.
