Biomethane is one of the main renewable gases of the future, already available and ready to use as an alternative to fossil gas for the decarbonisation of the EU energy system. For this reason, biomethane production in Europe is expected to reach 35 billion cubic metres per year by 2030, with an estimated investment of €37 billion.
