UNUE project: best biomethane plant in Spain
Market and policy
Suma Capital, a Spanish investment company, believes in the social and environmental value of biomethane and supports many projects, especially in the waste sector. In particular, with the UNUE plant, together with Enagás, the national network operator, it won the award for the best renewable gas-powered plant in Spain. The UNUE plant, located in the autonomous community of Burgos, was the first biomethane plant installed in Spain and in a year, it produced 1 billion Nm3 of biomethane (from organic waste) that is fed into the grid and distributed by the Nedgia company.
