Biogas in Italy: green light for the construction of plants admitted under the first FER2 auction

The GSE has published the results of the first FER2 auction for biogas and biomass: out of 10 MW available, 33 plants have been admitted for a total of just over 6 MW. Companies now have 31 months to complete construction and start operations without penalties. The second auction will open on July 5 and close on September 5, with a 5 MW quota. The calendar and quota for 2026 will be defined by March of that year.
