Biomethane/RNG: How does the process of connection with the Snam grid take place?
Applications and technologies
A specific connection process has to be followed to input biomethane/RNG produced into the grid and finally see this new energy source flowing in the gas pipelines. The process used by Snam - Europe’s leading regulated gas utility - is divided into several stages. Following a preliminary feasibility study a formal request can be submitted. Within 120 days of this, Snam issues an offer of connection to the producer which, if accepted, leads to the signing of the definitive contract. You can discover all details of the dynamics and timings of these stages in our interview with the Snam Contracts and Connections Manager.
