Biomethane/RNG in Germany: in the words of the gas transmission system operator
Market and policy
ONTRAS, a gas transmission system operator in Germany, transports 17% of German biomethane/RNG. The biomethane/RNG is fed in by 22 biogas plants connected to the grid, producing 180 million cubic meters of biomethane a year! But how can the level of biomethane/RNG availability required by law be guaranteed? ONTRAS has developed a mobile compressor that avoids costly downtimes in the connected plants and also minimizes any loss of gas during maintenance work.
