ERGaR CoO scheme to facilitate the transfers of certificates of origin of renewable gases
Market and policy
The ERGaR certification of origin scheme was established in June 2021 and is managed by the European Renewable Gas Registry, with the purpose of facilitating and encouraging cross-border transfers of certificates of origin (CoO) issued by Member countries. The aim is to provide a reliable, transparent and independent documentation system to reduce the risk of double sales and calculations. The gases concerned are hydrocarbon gases, hydrogen, biomethane/RNG and other renewable gases.
