In 2020, 250 million tons of CO2 avoided thanks to CHP
Biogas cogeneration
CHP - Cogeneration, in other words the combined production of electricity and heat, is one of the key technologies for Europe’s decarbonisation. In 2020, in fact, it is estimated that approximately 250 million tons of CO2 have been avoided thanks to this solution and the goal is to reach 350 million tons of CO2 avoided by 2030. A great milestone, made possible thanks to the right policies and a renewed propensity to use renewable gases as a fuel, such as biogas. The role of industry associations, such as Cogen Europe, which has been operating in this area for years, is also fundamental.
