KPMG at the heart of Ireland’s National Biomethane Strategy: 25 Actions to Accelerate Industry Growth
Market and policy
KPMG plays a central role in the development of the biomethane sector in Ireland. Over the past 5 years the company has partnered with Renewable Gas Forum Ireland and most recently supported the government in formulating the National Biomethane Strategy. Working on the Strategy, KPMG identified 25 key actions to be implemented to develop the sector on a large scale, including educational programmes on the benefits of biomethane, funding schemes and improvement of planning processes. As highlighted by the Government, a key action will be the implementation of the Renewable Heat Obligation Scheme, which will stimulate demand for biomethane.
