Paris Agreement: biogas as a solution to meet the energy needs of large companies
Market and policy
More than 4000 companies around the world have already embarked on the road towards decarbonisation, setting medium-long-term objectives (2030-2050). Most of these companies have started decarbonising the production of electricity, but in order to meet the objectives set out in the Paris Agreement (limiting global warming below 2 °C), attention must also be paid to the production of heat that affects emissions most. According to Tomasz Gasiński, biogas, which has an emission factor 1000 times lower than methane, could be the ideal solution to meet the energy needs of many companies in full compliance with the agreements.
