Poland: Biomethane as a driver of energy independence
Market and policy
Poland has enormous potential to produce biogas and biomethane from biomass: up to 8 billion cubic metres. A resource that could strengthen local energy production and make the country more energy independent. However, the sector’s growth is still slowed down by regulatory barriers and lengthy permitting procedures. That is why KWE – AB Energy Polska, active in Poland for more than 20 years, is working both on the development of new plants and on awareness-raising activities to highlight the benefits of biomethane for local communities. The goal is clear: greener, local, and more competitive energy. Let’s learn more in this interview.
