Poland: how biomethane can decarbonise the district heating sector
Applications and technologies
Poland’s district heating sector is highly developed. 17% of electricity and 63% of thermal energy are produced through cogeneration systems, known for their efficiency in the simultaneous production of two types of energy. However, to decarbonise these systems it is crucial to switch from natural gas to green fuels, such as biomethane. Fortunately, the production potential of biomethane in the country is very high. So how can biomethane help the district heating sector in the energy transition? Let’s find out in this video.
