Biomethane/RNG in the Czech Republic: interview with GasNet
Market and policy
Although only 1 biomethane/RNG plant is connected to the GasNet network to date, the potential for biomethane/RNG production in the Czech Republic is very high. In fact, there are 500 biogas plants in the country that could produce biomethane for a total of 1.3 billion m3 (equivalent to 10/15% of the current national consumption).
GasNet has been preparing for the connection of these plants to the grid for some time, but there are still obstacles to overcome in order to give impetus to the sector, particularly of a legislative nature. Let’s find out together.
