The METHAREN project for the innovative production of sustainable biomethane
Applications and technologies
METHAREN is an innovative project, funded by the European Union, that brings together 18 partners from 8 different countries. The aim is to demonstrate a more sustainable, circular, innovative and cost-effective biomethane production system. To achieve this goal, a pilot plant has been identified in Turin, in Northern Italy, where biomethane is produced from the treatment of organic waste. Here, we are experiencing an increase in the production of biomethane by 150% through the recovery of CO2, hydrogen (with an electrolyser) and syngas, produced from the plant's waste.
