According to the National Farmers’ Union – NFU – anaerobic digestion can strengthen the agricultural sector in the United Kingdom
Anaerobic digestion
Anaerobic digestion can strengthen and diversify the agricultural sector in the United Kingdom, particularly in view of Brexit - which will lead to the country’s withdrawal from the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union. The National Farmers’ Union (NFU), the organisation that represents farmers and horticulturists in England and Wales, recognises that anaerobic digestion is an ideal solution for producing energy without harming the soil or water resources. For this reason it is working with associations such as ADBA and other bodies within the sector to support the development of biogas in the United Kingdom.
