Action 10 of “Farming for Future” launched: Green hydrogen and CO2 recovery for agricultural decarbonisation
The CIB - Italian Biogas Consortium, presents the tenth and final action of the "Farming for Future" project, focused on the integration of green hydrogen and CO2 to produce 6 billion cubic meters of biomethane by 2030. This initiative aims to make agricultural energy programmable, exploiting the CO2 recovered from the upgrading of biomethane. The strategic use of biogenic CO2 allows farms to become the strategic link between all renewables, both programmable and non-programmable. In fact, recovering CO2 will increase the penetration of non-programmable renewable sources in the electricity grid, such as solar and wind, giving greater momentum and growth potential to the entire sector. Action 10 is part of the CIB’s roadmap for the agroecological transition, highlighting the importance of research and technological development to achieve the decarbonisation objectives by 2030 and 2050.
