The European biogas sector produces 167 TWh of biogas and 26 TWh of biomethane, with a total of 18,943 biogas plants and 725 biomethane/RNG plants installed as of 2019. These and a great deal of other data on the development and growth potential of the European biogas and biomethane/RNG sectors are available in the latest version of the EBA Statistical Report 2020, published just a few weeks ago by the European Biogas Association!
