Biogas and bioeconomy: the strategy of the German region of Baden-Württemberg
Market and policy
In the German region of Baden-Württemberg, approximately 1,000 biogas plants are installed. The working group at the Baden-Württemberg Agricultural Centre is responsible for implementing the national biogas strategy in the region, which focuses on three main pillars: expanding biogas plants, using new substrates such as alternative biomass, and developing innovative products in the bioeconomy sector, like fertilizers and packaging. We asked Heidi Brandauer, a member of the working group, to explain the various outreach activities carried out by the centre.
