Biomethane for the dairy sector in Ireland: the new National Strategy is good, but the financial model is unsustainable

The National Biomethane Strategy is also welcomed by the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association which, however, criticises the economic aspect: the financial model for building biomethane plants is, to date, unsustainable. The suggestion is to propose a long-term solution that guarantees producers an income for at least 15 years. We discussed this and the potential of biomethane for the dairy sector with the President of the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association.
