Biomethane in Europe: 5,000 plants would be enough to reach the target of 35 billion m3 of production by 2030
Market and policy
The biomethane sector is growing rapidly. This is also due to the current situation in Europe, which has placed an urgent need on many countries to find energy sources to reduce their dependence on foreign countries. Sustainable and ready-to-use biomethane has an achievable potential of 35 billion m3 in 2030, up to a minimum of 160 billion m3 of production by 2050. How to achieve this potential? 5,000 plants would be enough.
