According to Francesco Ferrante, Vice Chairman of the Kyoto Club, European agricultural policy is flawed in wanting to give aid instead of supporting innovation, as innovation is the only key to achieving the "agricultural revolution", i.e. the shift from fossil energy sources to renewable biogas. That’s the reason why biomethane will play a central role in the near future and, according to Ferrante, the Italian government should immediately provide rules for its injection into the grid.
