Granlatte targets 10 biomethane plants thanks to a consortium network that brings together over 500 milk producers throughout Italy
Granlatte is the agricultural cooperative - holding company of the Granarolo Group, which associates over 500 milk producers distributed in twelve Italian regions. This large pool of members allows the cooperative to aim high in terms of biomethane-related objectives. In fact, thanks to a network of consortium projects, members can adhere to ready-made corporate formulas, to contribute their livestock wastewater and produce biogas and therefore biomethane. There are 10 plants scheduled for commissioning, of which 5 are already in the initial stages, to reach full capacity to produce 30,000 kW and 500,000 tons of digestate, thus avoiding the emission of 60,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. Ambitions objectives that are part of a broader plan, which aims to reduce the environmental impact of the milk production chain by 30%.
