Maritime transport: 80% reduction in emissions with FuelEU Maritime

In Europe, the ETS system will enter into force in January 2024, while in 2025 it will be the turn of FuelEU Maritime for the reduction of greenhouse emissions from maritime transport, for which an 80% reduction target is foreseen by 2050. How is Spain moving in this regard? And what role does biomethane play in this sector? We asked the director of the "Merchant Navy" of the Spanish Ministry of Transport.
