Medicinal plants and biogas: Agribioenergia and BiogasDoneRight
Case history
We have already had the opportunity to talk about Agribioenergia, an agricultural cooperative from Medicina, in Bologna, inspired by a group of farmers’ desire to create sustainable energy (here the interview). This time, however, we visited this wonderful farm in person, where the thermal energy produced by the 987 kW cogenerator is used to dry the medicinal plants (such as nettle, passionflower, mint and others) sold to pharmacies and health food stores. A genuine example of BiogasDoneRight, put into the spotlight by the Italian Biogas Consortium during the third stop of their BDR Tour.
