Membrane contactors for biogas upgrading
Applications and technologies
Among the various biogas upgrading technologies currently available, membrane one is one of the most widely used. There are two types of membrane upgrading: gas-gas and gas-liquid (or membrane contactors). Although the first is the most commonly used in current biogas plants, membrane contactors are seeing a strong growth on the market. The CARTIF Spanish Research Centre has studied this technology and supports two projects for its implementation.
