Nigrita Bioenergy: a new success story for biogas in Greece
Case history
Nigrita Bioenergy is one of the biogas plants belonging to Green Line Energy, a company operating in the renewable energy sector. The biogas is produced using a wide variety of raw materials including animal manure, fruit, vegetable and food industry waste, whey and olive mill waste. The 1 MW plant is a great help to the farmers of Nigrita, a small Greek town, enabling them not only to dispose of their farming waste sustainably but also to use the digestate as a fertiliser.
