Preventing failures in anaerobic digesters with artificial intelligence
Anaerobic digestion
Artificial intelligence is also being applied to anaerobic digestion, offering effective support in monitoring and early detection of process disruptions or malfunctions.
Compared to traditional methods based on laboratory analyses, the use of smart sensors and predictive models makes it possible to identify anomalies up to three weeks in advance. This allows operators to take timely action, avoiding economic losses, drops in biogas production, and reductions in methane quality. The adoption of AI thus leads to significant improvements in plant performance and reliability.
